Riding Academy

A little bit about our riding school director, Brandi Hartdegen;

Brandi has been riding since she was 12. She started out barrel racing but it wasn't long before she discovered her love for jumping. She was a working student for years at a local barn called San Marcos Equestrian Center. At 16 she started teaching lessons for the facility. During this time she continued to show at schooling and county level shows. Later on she decided to expand her business and moved facilities where she trained and ran a riding school for the next 4 years.

In 2004 Brandi just had her first child and came in contact with James and Lindy Waldman. She was looking to work closer to home and they were looking for a riding academy. They all joined up and opened the Quail Haven Farm Riding Academy in August of 2004. Since then Brandi has continued her love for horses by expanding her knowledge in the show world by becoming a learner judge. Now she has come to Legacy Farms with the knowledge and love to establish a safe, family oriented atmosphere where students of all ages can come and learn.

Legacy Farm Riding School - Price List

Evaluation Lesson: $35.00

Single Group Lesson: $45.00

Monthly Group Packages: 50 minutes - 5 rider maximum

Package 1: 1x/ week - 4x/month = $160/month = ($40 each)
Package 2: 2x/ week - 8x/month = $290/month= ($36 each)
Package 3: 3x/ week - 12x/ month = $380/ month= ($32 each)

These packages are all paid on the first of every month. If a month comes with 5 weeks then consider it a replacement for a lesson owed. Holidays are not made up either because of the 5 week months throughout the year.

Single Private Lesson: $50/ 30 minutes or $65/ 50 minutes

Monthly Private Lessons: 30 minutes or 50 Minutes

Package 1A: 1x / week - 30 minutes - 4x/month = $180 ($45 each)
Package 2 A: 2x/week -30 minutes - 8x/month = $320 ($40 each)
Package 1B: 1x/ week - 50 minutes - 4x/month = $240 ($60 each)
Package 2 B 2x/week - 50 minutes - 8x/month = $440 ($55 each)

½ Lease - School Horse: $275.00 per month

Birthday Parties: (by private contract) - Please call for reservation one month prior to event. $40 per person.

Spring and Summer Horse Camp: Offered during our spring and summer months. Please ask you instructor for more information or visit our Summer Camp page.

Horse Shows: Please see our calendar of scheduled horse shows listed on the web site.

** Please be aware that lessons ARE conducted on RAINY DAYS. Sometimes there will be riding in light rain (please wear appropriate attire). Other times, there will be ground lessons. These are mandatory and educational. Our goal is to teach each student to ride and to also learn proper horse care on all aspects of the horse.

** Cancellations for any reason must be made 24 hours in advance or no make up lesson is granted. Make up lessons must be made within 30 days of the cancelled lesson and may be done with any instructor with the accommodating schedule.
